Another Art Show

Happy April! We're still in pandemic times with world problems and worries.

Luckily, we, artists, are still creating, still speaking, and still writing for a better future. At least I am.

I'm a newish member of Quabbin Art Association of Belchertown, MA and I joined in their current art show.

It is held at the South Hadley Public Library, South Hadley, MA, and will be going on until April 29th in the Community Meeting Room (at the left of the entrance). The room is open during library hours which are:

    Mondays to Wednesdays    9:30  a.m. to 8 p.m.

    Thursdays & Fridays          9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Saturdays                            9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It's great to be with other artists and see the variety. Mine is a 10 by 10-inch acrylic painting called "Two Pink Pitsek" © Ella Nathanael Alkiewicz, 2022.

This image is a likeness. You'll have to go see it in person to see the rich, vibrant colors. Leave a comment and let me know if you go, please.

(In case you didn't know, Pitsik means dried fish in Inuttitut. For two dried fish, it's Pitsek. For three or more dried fish it's Piset.) I can imagine smelling the crisp, clean Labrador air and seeing the various hues of blue with many fishes hanging for a future tasty supper.

The shine of the Arctic Char/iKaluk silver skin lines the cut fish.

Once the process is complete, they will be shared & consumed with zeal and cheer.

I grin and wait for the day to repeat my ancestor's traditions with ulu in one hand and cardboard in the other on my homeland.

If you are interested in joining Q.A.A. as a member, sign-up here and tell them Ella sent you!

Life is good and better with painting, fishing poles, kayaks, and coffee with frens & family.

Thanks for reading and feel free to share this with your friends and family. I am available for

commissions and have several paintings for sale. Email me at

ella dot alkiewicz at gmail dot com. Put on the Subject Line: Art for me.

Have a great day.
